Liz and Kevin

Engagement sessions are one of the most enjoyable forms of portrait work that I get to do.  There are no time constraints, people aren't running around in a panic, and my subjects aren't usually crying (as much).  During e-sessions(fancy industry abbreviation!), I get time to really see what the light is doing.   I also have time, if I don't like what the light is doing, to create my own light.  This is what Jenna(wife/model/assistant) and I do really well together.  I'm with the camera and she's usually in a precarious spot(on a ledge, in the weeds etc.) holding up a 15ft light stand.  By bringing our own light, we can combine it with the natural light to make really saturated, contrasty, dynamic images.(examples of this are in images below!)

Liz and Kevin are a seriously, super sweet couple.  They wanted their images to show Kansas nature so we took them to our secret Kansas nature photography location.  It was just before sunset, there was a field of blooming sunflowers and 7ft tall prairie grass....um, what I'm getting at is it was pretty close to perfect.  So, I had a super cute couple, my lovely assistant and time to make the images that I wanted.  Sessions like this one are what keep me excited to be doing what I do.
